Stockroom

Purchasing for the store you have

Stockroom started on Shopify, and Shopify is still where most of it happens. Buying stock, receiving it and knowing what it cost are the same job on any platform, so Stockroom now connects to more than one.

Two platforms, one purchasing workflow

The same purchase orders, receiving, landed costs and reports on either platform. Both are free.

Shopify

Live

Stockroom runs inside your Shopify admin, alongside Shopify POS and every location you sell from. Purchase orders, receiving, stocktakes and reorder suggestions all write through to Shopify, so your inventory stays in Shopify and every movement shows on the product page.

Install free from the Shopify App Store.

WooCommerce

Live

Connect a WooCommerce store with nothing to install. You enter your store address, approve read and write access on your own wp-admin screen, and Stockroom imports your products, variations, prices and sales history. Receiving updates stock in WooCommerce the same way it does in Shopify.

How a store connects

Shopify merchants work inside their Shopify admin. Everyone else works from a Stockroom account at go.stockroom.app.

  • Shopify: install and open. Stockroom runs inside your Shopify admin, so there is no separate login. Install it from the App Store and open it, and your products, locations and sales history are already there.
  • WooCommerce: connect a URL. There is no plugin to install or keep updated. Enter your store address, approve read and write access on your wp-admin screen, and the import starts. You can revoke access from WooCommerce whenever you like.
  • Your catalog comes across. Products, variations, prices, barcodes, vendors and cost come into Stockroom automatically and stay current. There is no spreadsheet to prepare.
  • Receiving writes back. When you receive stock, the quantity updates in the store it belongs to, Shopify or WooCommerce, and the cost is recorded as its own layer for COGS reporting.
  • One account, more than one store. Several stores sit side by side in one workspace, each with its own POs, suppliers and stock. You switch between them without signing out.
  • Suppliers get an account too. A supplier can claim an account from a purchase order you emailed them, and see the orders from every buyer they work with in one place, whatever platform each of you runs.

Platforms you can request

These are not connected yet. Ask for one from Connect a store in your account. The request is recorded against your account, and you get an email the day it opens.

Questions

Platform questions

Is Stockroom still free on WooCommerce?

Yes. Purchase orders and receiving are free, and they stay free - that is the core of the app, not a trial, and it is the same core on every platform. As Stockroom grows into deeper inventory management, the advanced end of that will be paid, along with things like hands-on onboarding and priority support.

Is there a WooCommerce plugin to install?

No. Stockroom connects over the REST authorization built into WooCommerce. You enter your store address and approve access on your wp-admin screen. There is nothing on your site to update or to break on a WordPress upgrade, and you can revoke access from WooCommerce at any time.

Can I run a Shopify store and a WooCommerce store in one account?

Yes. Stores sit side by side in one workspace no matter what each of them runs on, and each keeps its own purchase orders, suppliers, locations and stock. The same is true of several Shopify stores, which is the more common case.

Do Shopify merchants need a go.stockroom.app account?

No. The app in your Shopify admin is complete on its own. An account is useful if you run more than one store, or if you want your team in Stockroom without giving them a Shopify staff seat.

When will Amazon or BigCommerce be ready?

There is no date yet. Requests decide the order they get built in, so registering interest counts. It is one click from Connect a store once you have an account.

Does adding platforms mean Shopify gets less attention?

No. Shopify is where most Stockroom merchants are, and everything is still built for Shopify first: Shopify POS, every location, the embedded admin app and the App Store listing. Other platforms are built onto the same core.
