Insights
Build products and keep Shopify inventory right
Define what each product is made of, build it from a work order, and let demand raise the next one. Every build takes components out of Shopify inventory and puts finished goods in, with work in progress, yield and the assembled cost on the same document.
Bills of materials
Components and raw materials per unit, in grams, metres or sheets, nested as deep as you build. Live assembled cost and a can-build count before anything moves.
Bills of materials →Builds
Issue components into work in progress, record runs with yield and scrap, move the ticket through your own stages, and print the build sheet. Shopify is updated once per run.
Builds →Production planning
Restock by building: low stock raises a build, a short component raises a PO, and a customer order can raise a build on its own.
Production planning →Early accessFree, like the rest of Stockroom, and still being built out.

Shopify keeps one cost. Your books need the history.
Shopify stores a single cost per variant and overwrites it. When a delivery costs more, the recorded cost of the stock you already own changes, and so does your cost of goods sold. Stockroom keeps every receipt as its own cost layer, so what you paid last quarter stays on record.
Every delivery keeps its cost
A receipt records what that shipment cost, with freight and duty folded into the unit cost. A price change next quarter does not rewrite it.
FIFO or weighted average
Pick the basis your books are kept on. QuickBooks Online costs FIFO and QuickBooks Desktop costs average. You can view either on the report at any time.
Numbers that survive a year end
Period COGS, stock value as of any past date, and margin on landed cost, on any fiscal calendar, with a full export whenever your accountant asks.
The PO app your suppliers can be on too
Connect a supplier who sells on Shopify and your PO becomes their order, their fulfillment updates your PO, and their published prices keep your costs current. Let the whole chain run on its own, or keep an approval step wherever you want one.
POs arrive as orders
Mark a PO ordered and it lands in their store as an order. Or let the chain run on its own, from the customer order that triggered it to the order they pick.
Fulfillment flows back
Their tracking and shipped quantities move your PO from ordered to received. On a drop-ship order it notifies your customer too.
Prices stay current
Their published price list feeds your costs, margins and buy plan, with your approval.
Stockroom is free
The whole app, with unlimited purchase orders, suppliers and SKUs. No trials, no credit card at install.
The one thing we charge for is MyWorks Sync, our accounting sync, if you want your purchasing and the rest of your store flowing into QuickBooks.
Bring your history with you
Import suppliers, your full PO history and the receiving timeline in one click. Most stores are set up in minutes.
